Policy 3.5 - Post-Secondary Enrollment Option

Minnesota State Policy

Part 1: Purpose

Minnesota’s Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) enables Minnesota high school students to enroll in courses or programs in an eligible postsecondary institution for secondary and postsecondary credit, at no cost to the student. The specific purposes of these programs are to promote rigorous educational pursuits and provide a wider variety of options for students.

The PSEO program is supported by the state and allows academically successful MN High School or MN Home School Juniors and Seniors the chance to earn college credits while still in high school. It is also available to 9th and 10th graders who meet the criteria to enroll in specific courses. The advantages of the program are many; students get a head start on their college education, save tuition dollars and experience studying in the college environment.

Lake Superior College reserves the right to exclude enrollment in certain courses/programs.

The PSEO program is not available during the summer term.

Part 2: Policy Statement

Lake Superior College will follow Minnesota State Policy 3.5 Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program.
