Three LSC Students Named to All-Minnesota Academic Team
Lake Superior College students Noelle Chanslor, Matthew Foster and Spencer Yon were named to the 2024-25 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-Minnesota Academic Team.

Introduced two decades ago, the All-Minnesota Academic Team program provides the opportunity to celebrate some of the state’s highest-achieving college students in associate degree and certificate programs, considering classroom academic excellence and rigor, plus community service and leadership.

Noelle Chanslor

Hometown: Proctor, Minnesota
High School and Graduation Year: Cloquet HS, 2003
LSC Major: Professional Pilot
LSC Scheduled Graduation Date: Summer 2025
Career Plans: After graduating, I plan on working as a flight instructor for a couple years before applying for a pilot position with an airline.

Matthew Foster

Hometown: Pequot Lakes, Minnesota
High School and Graduation Year: Pequot Lakes HS, 2023
LSC Major: Automotive Technology
LSC Scheduled Graduation Date: Spring 2025
Transfer Plans: May go onto a four-year school for an engineering degree.
Career Plans: I plan to work with different racing teams until I can eventually help design and build them as well.

About making the 2024-25 All-Minnesota Academic Team: "I’m very honored to be on the All-Minnesota Academic Team. College has been an amazing experience for me. I’ve learned a ton and made a lot of friends. I don’t think I’d change anything if I were to do it over again."

Spencer Yon

Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
High School and Graduation Year: William Fremd HS, 2012
LSC Major: Electrical Engineering
LSC Scheduled Graduation Date: Spring 2025
Transfer Plans: Transfer to Swenson College of Engineering at University of Minnesota Duluth
Career Plans: I plan to join my friends and colleagues as an engineer at Polaris on their off-road design and development team.

Noelle, Matthew and Spencer will be honored at the All-Minnesota Academic Team Recognition Luncheon next month. They are now eligible for nomination on the All-USA/Coca-Cola Academic Team and other scholarships. PTK will notify all scholars in contention of their placement on national teams at a future date.
