Nursing Students to be Recognized at Pinning Ceremony on December 14

Lake Superior College nursing students will participate in a formal nurse’s pinning ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. to acknowledge their graduate status as professional nurses.

“Our traditional pinning ceremony is meant to welcome our new nursing graduates into the nursing profession,” said LSC Nursing Program Director Deborah Amys. “The new nurses are presented with nursing pins by the faculty or a loved one chosen by the graduate.”

Forty-nine students will graduate this December, completing their professional nursing A.S. degree. This qualifies them to take the Minnesota state nursing exam to become registered nurses. Family and friends are invited to attend the pinning ceremony to be held in the Commons on LSC’s main campus with a reception to follow.

All LSC Nursing programs are approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).
