LSC to Host Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night September 24 at LSC’s Emergency Response Training Center

Learn about exciting careers and earning potential first-hand from professionals in firefighting and truck driving at Lake Superior College’s Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night on September 24, 4:30 to 7 p.m. at  LSC’s Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC), 11501 Highway 23, Duluth, MN 55808.

Go for a ride in a semi-truck and get the feel of the road from a professional truck driver’s vantage point. With the strong demand for professional truck drivers, job placement from the Lake Superior College trucking program is nearly 100%. Get your commercial driver’s license (CDL) and you can be on the road in as little as seven weeks. Representatives from trucking companies will be on site with their trucks to talk about the profession and earning potential.

Interested in becoming a firefighter? Get in-depth information about what you need for skills, aptitude and physical fitness to become a fire fighter, by talking directly with experienced fire fighters. Tour LSC’s firefighting facilities, including practice burn box areas, and suit up with turn-out gear.

LSC’s fleet of fire trucks, emergency vehicles and truck trailers will be on display with faculty and current students providing tours and answering questions. Advisors will also be on hand to answer questions and provide information about financial aid, transfer options, and much more.

LSC’s Firefighting and Truck Driving Career Night is free and open to the public.
