DULUTH, Minn. (February 12, 2024) – Lake Superior College students will get a break from their regular academic schedule on Tuesday, February, 13 to participate in the spring edition of Student Success Day.
The college hosts the conference-style event each semester to support academic and personal success. Sessions are offered by LSC faculty and staff, community members, local businesses, non-profits, and four-year institutions. The event was first started in 2008.
Students will have approximately 60 sessions that explore topics and activities in support of student success. There are sessions that promote personal, career, financial, leadership, and educational skill building, as well as, networking opportunities to further build community with fellow LSC students, staff, and faculty.
Most sessions are in-person with some online offerings and recordings for students. Some highlighted sessions include Test-Taking Strategies, a Winter Hike, Donuts with the Dean, Student Senate Open Forum, Ping Pong Tournament, a Crafting is Caring community-building activity and a Creativity Through Cards activity. Additionally, a Student Club Showcase will highlight many of the student clubs, athletics and honor societies available on campus to promote engagement, networking and community.
Students will enjoy a lunch, informational tables throughout the day in the main concourse and many more activities. The event runs from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Tuesday.
