Kelli Hallsten-Erickson has been named director of the Tutoring and Learning Center at Lake Superior College. A current faculty member, Hallsten-Erickson has taught English for fifteen years and served as the Center for Faculty Innovation Coordinator for ten years. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the professional and peer (student) tutors in a variety of subjects, including math, sciences, and writing as well as managing various other learner support initiatives such as the campus-wide Student Success Conference.
She holds a M.A. in rhetoric and applied writing and a B.A. in literature and writing from St. Cloud State University. Her previous higher education experiences include two years as a General Education Instructor at Northland Community and Technical College; two years as a Composition Instructor at St. Cloud State University; and one semester as the Assistant Director of the Write Place Tutoring Center at St. Cloud State University, where she also served as a tutor for one year.
