Erin Howardson has been hired as the program director for the Surgical Technology program at Lake Superior College. In this role, she will be responsible for the organization, administration and continued development of the Surgical Technology program.

“Employers are looking to hire highly-educated techs,” said Howardson. “It is crucial that I graduate competent surgical technologists who will be able to step right into the workforce. Achieving student success is a top priority for me when teaching. It’s one way health care facilities can ensure successful outcomes for the patient.”

Howardson comes to Lake Superior College with twenty-two years of experience as a certified surgical technologist, with ten of those years serving as the program director and instructor for the Surgical Technology program at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, Montana. She also has extensive experience with curriculum development and program accreditation.
