Add/drop period
Regular term classes
You can add or drop classes within the first five (5) days of the start of the term. Additions or Drops must be processed by the close of business on the 5th day of the term (11:59 p.m.)
Short term classes
Classes that start after the first week of the term can be added or dropped within one (1) calendar day of the first class session.
Caution
Although policy allows you to add courses through the time period described above, not all courses are designed to accommodate students who miss classes. We recommend you ask the instructor before adding a class after the start date.
Add a class after add/drop period
To request to add a class after the add/drop period, submit a Petition to Policy Form for Current Students or Non-Current Students.
Withdrawal period
The last date you can withdraw from a course is shown in your schedule. The course displays a clock icon. Hover over the clock icon to display the last date you can withdraw from the course.
Caution
We highly recommend you speak to an advisor to see how a withdrawal will affect your overall standing at Lake Superior College. Courses you have withdrawn from will show a grade of “W” on your transcript. A grade of “W” does not affect GPA, but does affect completion rate. Withdrawal from courses can also affect financial aid.
