Apply to the Physical Therapist Assistant - Military Bridge Program
Step 1: Before Applying to PTA-Military Bridge
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)-Military Bridge program is a unique program for service members with military therapy training. As an accepted student, your previous military training and experience will apply to the program. You will start the program with 54 equivalent civilian credits to apply to the 74 credit PTA Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree. The Physical Therapist Assistant-Military Bridge program enables you to complete the AAS Degree online in 20 credits. It is the only program of its kind in the nation.
The LSC PTA-Military Bridge is a fully online program which starts once a year in Spring semester. Applications are accepted year-round, and the program currently has no waiting list.

Complete military training
Complete an approved military training program per current admission criteria. Please note that you must wait 6 months after the Phase 2 or Journeyman training before applying.

Additional Requirements
- All PTA applicants are required to complete the most current Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to application deadlines and release scores to LSC.
- Applicants must achieve a minimum ATI TEAS score of 58.6% to be considered for PTA program entry.
- If the applicant has taken the ATI TEAS test at another institution, please have the transcript sent electronically to LSC through ATI. LSC will not accept any paper copies of ATI TEAS scores.
- There is no limit to the number of ATI TEAS test attempts

Verify Work Experience
Provide a recommendation from a supervising physical therapist verifying 6 months post-training work experience and a skills documentation log.
Complete Pre-Program Requirements
Complete all “pre-program” requirements / courses specified in your program guide.
Students may take general education courses required for the program prior to formal program acceptance, PTA-specific courses can only be taken for the AAS degree by students who have been formally accepted into the program. Official program acceptance occurs only when all program entry requirements have been satisfied and the program has notified the student of their acceptance.

Step 3: Next Steps...
- You will be notified within 4 weeks of receipt of your program application materials.
- When your file is complete, you will be notified about your admission status. Most students are initially placed on a program waiting list for 12-18 months. During this time you are strongly encouraged to compete all required general education courses.
- Acceptance letters for the PTA-Military Bridge program will be emailed in March for the following spring semester’s PTA courses. This is for formal program acceptance once you are no longer on the waiting list.

Student Selection
Students who become LSC students and complete all PTA Military Bridge pre-program requirements will be admitted to the PTA Military Bridge program as long as there are available seats in the program. Students are ranked by the date on which their final program requirement was met, and when they completed their application to LSC / declared PTA as their program.
