You can apply up to one-year in advance of your intended start term. If you’ve been an LSC student within the past 2 years, you don’t need to reapply.

We recommend applying early to allow time for the processing of transcripts and the financial aid application (if applicable).

We are happy to help you get your application in on time; however, we ask that you please come to Student Services on Main Campus and apply in person. StarIDs are important!
You’ll create a StarID account when you apply to Lake Superior College. File this little gem into your memory bank right away. You’ll use it over and over as long as you’re a student!
Why should you provide your Social Security Number?
You are not required to provide your social security number (SSN) to be accepted to Lake Superior College.
We recommend that you provide your SSN!
Providing your SSN simplifies:
- Financial aid processing
- StarID password resets (you'll use your StarID for campus electronic resources)
- Receiving tax forms electronically
Tell us about other colleges
You must list all colleges you’ve previously attended on the application. If you are currently taking college classes in high school, do not list those on the application.
Skip it!
The Education-High School Preparation Standards in step 4 of the application does not apply to LSC.You can skip all screens in step 4.
Choose a major / program / degree
If you don’t add a major / program, Associate in Arts (liberal arts & sciences) will be selected for you.Do not re-apply to change your major. Contact an LSC advisor to change your major at any time.

Submit high school transcripts
Graduated in the last 5 years?
Submit an official high school or home-school transcript to to or fax to .Graduated over 5 years ago?
You don’t need to submit a high school or home-school transcript.Current high school students
Send us your in-progress transcript to or fax to . Once you graduate, ask your high school to send us your final, completed transcript with graduation date. If we do not receive it before the semester you enroll, you will not be able to receive financial aid for that term.
Submit college transcripts
Submit official transcripts from any colleges you attended in the past. Our transfer services provides information about which credits will transfer to LSC. To submit a transcript, contact the college and request your official transcript to be sent to LSC.
Minnesota State transcripts
If you have attended another college or university (excluding the University of MN) within the Minnesota State system, you do not need to order a transcript. LSC is able to electronically download your transcript after you apply.Official transcripts delivery to LSC

Fill out the immunization form
If you live out of state or graduated high school before 1997, please complete and mail in the immunization form. If we don’t receive it, you’ll be prevented from registering for your second semester of classes.
Do you live outside the state of Minnesota?
Non-Minnesota residents will pay the same tuition rates as Minnesota residents.
Tuition reciprocity is a tuition discount offered to residents of certain states. Wisconsin and North Dakota residents must apply for this discount.
Tuition reciprocity application:
Residents of Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri or Nebraska automatically get discounted out-of-state tuition rates.
Are you applying to a program with additional admission requirements?
These programs have additional admission requirements. Accepted LSC students that meet pre-program requirements detailed in the program guide may apply.
You may want to release your information to others (like your parents or spouse).
Lake Superior College is prohibited by law from releasing your records to an individual (including your family) unless you complete a Release of Information Authorization form.
